Warm and sunny smiles to all.
Thank you for visiting my website.
I am Jacqueline Chance Bird, a transplant from the beautiful island of Jamaica. We are a rich culture, a melting pot of many nations; I am mostly of Chinese descent with African and European mix. As exotic a mix breed that I am, so is the palate of my curiosity. From Greek Mythology, Khalil Gibran, Louise Bennett, and Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley). I have always had a fascination with poetic writing and imagery as so beautifully displayed in their Art form. This has manifested itself in my love of the Arts in its various forms.
From a collector, curator, creator, and distributor of the Arts, I would like to share a brief history.
The original home of Jacquie’s Treasures was destroyed by fire (arson) on Thursday, February 25th, 2011. The journey since has been a struggle with sweat and tears. My tears were lost in floods of support from friends, new acquaintances, and well-wishers. This nurturing of hope built the foundation of rebirth today.
Our logo, the Phoenix, symbolizes the rise from the ashes, rebirth in living color. Jacquie’s Treasures Gallery & More is a rainbow of Art, that promises hope - not only for me but the many artists who nurtured me with kindness at my darkest hour.
This is our Gallery, we invite you in.
Here you can find our Island’s treasure throve of Art. We live, breathe, speak and express our Art as an extension of our beautiful island’s culture in each unique piece from our Gallery - Individually we are vulnerable, together we are a force of nature.
We embrace the concept, ‘Buy Jamaican’, and intend to sell only Jamaican Art. However, the few pieces from other countries on display were sourced locally from homes here on our beautiful island or from my personal collection. Although not many, they do diversify our stock.
Special mention must be made of these Artists: Antonio Scott, Sean Reid, Symister, Erol Walker, Lois Sherwood, Mabusha Dennis, Cecil Cooper, Nasean, Hopeton Cargill. The late Errol Allen, Gene Pearson, Barrington Watson and aslo my friend Champayne Gonzalez wife of the late Christopher Gonzalez - through their support and encouragement we have given rise to our logo "the Phoenix".
Jacquie’s Treasures, formerly at 55 Union Street Montego Bay, then Half Moon Village Shopping Center, (thanks to the generosity of the Half Moon Hotel).
The Artists and I now open our online Gallery to you, enjoy the soul of our Island through our Art.

In the Art of words, I share my thoughts:
Each purposeful step
Takes us on a journey
We may run, trot or walk, one
foot in front of the other, in faith
Ever mindful to lend a hand
Or just share a smile
Armored with support and love
From others, (God’s Angels)
Life places us in its reality
Nothing, yet everything,
Making money my slave
Not my master
Faith now our Captain
To a destiny unknown
accepting, not forgetting
Finding the strength to survive.
The fountain of hope flows
Quenching its thirst in Hope
Ashes of adversity scatter
From the wings of the Phoenix,
As I rise, taking flight, in rebirth
Adventure on journeys unknown
New beginnings, endless possibilities
As we create:
"THE ART OF LIVING"
humbled by experiences,
Live to love and love to live ...
Jacqueline Chance Bird
